Now I weigh what I weighed in high school!

We have lost almost 20 pounds!
We have been working with patty for 40 days now and have lost almost 20 pounds. Her meal plans and encouragement have helped us to manage our caloric intake and we no longer feel hungry all the time since we are eating nutritious foods that are filling. We feel more energized and are determined to keep this going until we are at our goal weights. We are 26 and want to feel healthy before we enter our 30s and it’s more taxing on our bodies.

Lost over 20 pounds!

A1c Down from 10.3 to 6.1 (pre-diabetic range).
In March of 2018, I was just diagnosed as a Type II diabetic with a 10.3 A1C. I was personally defeated and couldn’t see a way out. I thought that being diagnosed as a person with type II diabetes was a nail in the coffin and despite my efforts, I couldn’t do anything to turn things around. I had met with Patty for a few sessions before the diagnosis on March of 2018, but I have to admit that I was not nearly as motivated to make life changes and lifestyle changes until I had this recent diagnosis. The before-after picture is just proof of all that can happen in only a few months if you do the work with fidelity and follow the plans. In July of 2018, my A1C dropped to 6.1, and I’m back on the road to recovery while losing weight, gaining muscle and feeling good about the journey. Richard Kuniansky’s Amazing Transformation Story
I worked out with weights with a personal trainer for 5 years. I got very good results for age 59 (See top left picture below). However, it was a lot of work! Eventually I tired of it and quit. I then for lack of a better phrase “let myself go”. However, I did not realize I was “fat” until I saw a picture of myself with a great big stomach (see bottom left picture below). Sometimes we don’t see ourselves in an accurate light. It was a wake up call because I had never been fat before. I immediately cut out the really stupid eating such as donuts, ice cream and pecan pie (all of which I love). My weight very quickly dropped from 200 to 194 but I still had a belly. That’s when by happenstance I met Patty at a mutual friend’s birthday party. I decided to make an appointment with her to lose “5 pounds of fat in my stomach”. Little did I know that I actually had 14 pounds of fat to lose in my stomach. Once again, I saw myself in a different light. In a short 2 months I lost the remaining 14 pounds and I am now at a lean 180 (see bottom right picture below, here I am only 5 pounds above my weight 40 years ago when I graduated from law school). The best part is that the “diet” if you want to call it that is very easy. It involves no hunger pains or small portions. It’s simply about eating sensibly. I always thought a diet meant salads and starving, but I eat 3 healthy meals a day and have a healthy snack or two a day and I still quickly lost the weight. I look much better (just in time for swimsuit weather) and I feel much better.

Down to 150lbs from 214!
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter. When I first walked into Patty’s office I weighed 214 pounds. I had tried every diet plan I could get my hands on. Although I lost weight, I could not keep it off or stick to unreasonable plans. I was frankly tired of counting points; not eating carbs; taking a fast day; drinking apple cider vinegar… If there was a diet, I had tried it. I had pretty much resigned myself to wearing a size 22 pant forever. As a last resort, I went to see Patty. What she told me was reasonable. Not only reasonable, do-able! I am down to 150 pounds, I wear a size 14 and, best of all, I am keeping the weight off. Patty provided incredible guidance and patience as I lost weight. She taught me “how” to eat and to regulate my weight. My only complaint… I had to buy a whole new wardrobe! In all seriousness, I credit Patty with the transformation. When Adrienne started working with Patty, she was weighing 307 pounds in September, 2007 with limited mobility and range of motion. A Sweet Success
Tim initially came to see Patty in November 2007, based on his doctor’s recommendation to lose weight and to lower his lipid profile and blood pressure. To this day, Tim has continued to increase his activity, and has significantly improved his dietary lifestyle. He has lost 35 pounds, he runs four nine- minute miles five times per week and will train to run the Houston marathon next year. Tim is determined to keep moving forward with his endeavor for self improvement. He is a real sweet success!
I am no longer diabetic!
When Patty met Chris in September, 2008, he was 27 years old, 100 pounds overweight, unable to exercise and admittedly had very unhealthy eating habits. It wasn’t until Chris became very ill with severe diabetes symptoms – immediately requiring insulin – that he found the motivation to lose weight and to take better care of himself. Chris made great progress by January, 2009. He had shed 50 pounds and no longer needed insulin.
April 6, 2009, Chris wrote via Facebook: “It’s been about 8 months since my dad and I first met with you. I just wanted to give you a positive update on my health status. When I first met with you, I believe I was weighing about 286 pounds or so, but as of this morning, I am now weighing 199 pounds. I just have 13 more pounds to go til I reach my goal weight. The last time I met with Dr. Schaffer, he could not believe my progress and according to my lab results, he says he has every reason to believe that I am no longer diabetic. That was back in January, but it’s like you told me, it’s a lifestyle change. I still continue to eat the same way you advised me to and haven’t strayed from it at all. Just wanted to say hey and thanks for all your help in helping me get my health back on track !
July 20, 2009, Chris wrote via Facebook: I have hit another big milestone in my quest to get ripped by officially losing 100 pounds. I am now at 186 pounds.”
