This can be frustrating if you are trying to lose weight. The average adult weight can fluctuate between 2 to 4 pounds per day.

The biggest contributor to weight fluctuation is water retention. Here are factors that influence how much water our bodies retain:

✨ Sodium: excess sodium intake leads to water retention

✨Exercise: exercise can cause water loss through perspiration

✨Glycogen levels: the more glycogen (stored form of carbs in our body), the more water you retain.

✨Menstrual cycle: fluctuation in certain hormones can lead to water retention

✨Medications

✨Dehydration: being dehydrated causes the body to retain more water.

✨Meal and drink consumption

✨Bathroom visits: normal bodily excretions (urine and feces) can weigh a couple of pounds

Oh what a fun night, I learned how to make sushi t Oh what a fun night, I learned how to make sushi the right way!  As much as I love sushi and love cooking, I have never mastered making sushi. My daughter Gabby and I once tried to make sushi when she was in high school.  My kitchen turned  into a major disaster in no time, but we had fun!  Its one of my greatest memory of us experimenting in the kitchen.

I encourage my clients to have sushi, because in my opinion,  its a weight-loss-friendly meal.  I’ve been eating sushi for over 20 years at least once a week and it’s never made me fat.  However, if you trying to lose weight, you may want to steer clear of sushi made with high-fat sauces and fried tempura batter, which significantly increases their calorie content. Opting for sushi with more fish and vegetables will definitely not wreak havoc on your dietary budget. 🍣🍱
