Gabby’s Decadent Energy Bites

This rich and filling energy bite makes for the perfect pick-me-up! Oats, maca powder, and honey will help propel you throughout your day while protein powder, almond butter, walnuts, and hemp hearts will help you reach your daily protein intake while helping you feel full and nourished. These bites are also a good source of fiber and make for an indulgent snack.

These energy bites will last in the fridge for up to a week and make for the perfect midday munchie after work or after school. Happy snacking!

Makes ~14 1 1/2 inch ball-shaped bites.

Serving Size: 1.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oats
  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • 2 tsp maca powder
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of creamy almond butter
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup of shelled hemp hearts
  • 1/2 cup of bittersweet mini chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds2 tbsp of honey
  • 1 tbsp of hemp seed oil
  • (optional, add 1 extra tbsp of honey if excluded)

Instructions:

  • Add your oats, protein powder, maca powder, cinnamon, and salt into a blender or food processor and mix ingredients until they incorporate into a fine powder.

  • Put your dry mixture into a large mixing bowl and add the remaining dry ingredients: walnuts, hemp hearts, chocolate chips, and chia seeds. Next, add the almond butter, honey, and hemp seed oil and use your hands to combine the ingredients until it becomes a thick, doughy consistency.
  • Begin forming the mixture into balls, about 1 1/2 inches wide. If the mixture is not holding together, add more honey, hemp seed oil, or any other binding ingredient such as dates or agave to help keep its shape.
